CMAS was a proud participant in the Kids to Parks event held May 17th at Quarry Park in Waite Park. The program was sponsored by Stearns County Parks. The many activities included two live birds presentations – including a Peregrine Falcon and an American Kestrel – followed up by bird walks for kids and their parents led by CMAS volunteers.
It was the inaugural day for using our new Birding Packs for Kids at Quarry Park! Five of the Packs are now housed in the office building at Quarry Park for people to check out while they are in the park.
Thank you to all the CMAS volunteers who showed up to man our table, and to take groups of children and parents for a bird walk. We met some passionate young birders!
