Central Minnesota Audubon Society encompasses an area covering all of Benton County and parts of Stearns, Morrison, Sherburne, Wright, Meeker, Todd, Mille Lacs and Isanti counties. There are many beautiful areas in central Minnesota to explore – county parks, state parks and many other public lands with diverse populations of plants and wildlife.

Lots of Lichens
Tanner Barnharst, author of “Minnesota Lichen Guide: Basic Identification for Common Lichens in Minnesota,” presented at our January 21st meeting. It was an engaging talk and included a time for hands-on exploration. See the complete summary in the February newsletter, coming soon.

Christmas Bird Count 2025
The 126th Christmas Bird Count has now completed. The St. Cloud-Collegeville CBC was held on December 20, 2025 with 17 participants in 10 observing parties plus three feeder watchers. A total of 44 species and 3700 birds were tallied on count day, with an additional two species observed during count week. The composite species list
